When we are following Jesus, love isn’t a suggestion, it’s a command. First, He calls us to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Second, He tells us to love others as He first loved us. He says that love is what we will be recognized by as His disciples. 

This isn’t always easy and doesn’t always come naturally, but He has given us a perfect example to follow. Our fleshly tendency is to love with expectations, where Jesus calls us to love unconditionally. We tend to only want to love others when they deserve it, but we were loved even when we least deserved it. 

Live out His command to love. It will transform your life and the lives of those around you. 

Love the Lord  your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. - Deuteronomy 6:5

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. - John 13:34-35
